He attended Saratoga Elementary School and Irving Junior High School. He then graduated from Lincoln High School in 1936. See graduation announcement images below.

After high school he attended the Lincoln School of Commerce. He graduated after completing courses business administration. See images below for graduation ceremony.
During the mid 1930’s, he worked for Wendelin Baking Company as a bookkeeper. His life was interupted by the draft and entered the Army in 1941. After the outbreak of World War II, he received his training and was shipped over seas to the European Theater of Operations. Serving in the Field Artillary, he was stationed in France and Germany. Discharged in 1945, he returned to Lincoln, Nebraska.
Upon his return, he began working for the Veterans Administration in the publications section. Then, took employment with the US Post Office until he retired.
In the latter 1930’s, he played the slide trombone while in Junior High School. He played the drums in High School and also with his brother Irv’s dance band. He was interested in photography and developed his own pictures.
He married Phoebe Novella Small on September 29, 1946 at North Elm Church near Oketo, Kansas. Novella was born and raised on a farm owned by her parents, Walter Small and Grace Potter, also near Oketo, Kansas. See wedding article at bottom of this page.

Two sons were born to Everett and Novella. Bruce W. on April 11, 1951 and Mark A. on April 17, 1953. Bruce attended Northeast High School and then Nebraska Weselyn University in Lincoln where he then received a degree in psychology. He then entered University of Nebraska Graduate school to study writing. After working for the State of Nebraska and attending Graduate school he moved to Seattle, Washington where he became a published magazine writer and IT Professional.
Mark attended and graduated from Northeast High School and has had a career in advanced building maintenance, primarily for hosptitals.
Novella was employed as a technician with the Lincoln Chiropractic Center, and became a key individual in their operation. She was killed in an automobile accident while enroute to see her mother in Marysville, Kansas on 5 May 1982. She is interred at Lincoln Memorial Park in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Everett has become involved in small engine repair and did part-time working on lawn mowers and other engine driven machines. He devoted many hours to the Norheast Community Church, where he was a founding member.
In 1988 Everett met Rosie. They have been a couple ever since, even though they maintain their own homes. Picture below from January 11, 1997.

On July 7, 2018 Rosie’s large extended family had a family reunion and used the event to spring an early surprise birthday party for Everett (and Rosie!), complete with cake with 100 repeated on top. Rosie is on the right.
